About

Meet Jessica Villanueva

Clinical Psychologist · AHPRA registered

Jessica is a Clinical Psychologist, registered nationally with AHPRA. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the Australian Catholic University.

Across public hospitals, schools, community organisations, university clinics and private practice, Jessica has supported children, teenagers, young adults and families through a wide range of experiences, from anxiety and low mood to obsessive-compulsive difficulties and trauma. She draws on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Family-Based Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Circle of Security and Parent Management Training, always shaped around the person in front of her rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

At the heart of Jessica's work is partnership. She takes time to understand each person's story, making sense of things together and caring for the whole picture: mind, body, and the relationships and world around them. She is passionate about helping people understand what they are experiencing, hoping to offer a safe and steady space, tailored to each person, and to walk alongside families through the ups and downs.

Getting started

Four simple steps to your first session

Taking the first step is often the hardest part. Here's what to expect.

1

Reach out

Send an enquiry through the form below or get in touch. We'll answer your questions and find a time that suits.

2

See your GP (optional)

For Medicare rebates, ask your GP for a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. Happy to guide you through this.

3

First session

We take time to get to know you, understand what's going on, and gently map out where to from here.

4

Grow together

Ongoing sessions at a pace that feels right, working towards the goals that matter most to you and your family.

Fees & funding

Ways to fund your sessions

Several options are available so support is as accessible as possible.

Medicare

With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you can claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions each calendar year under the Better Access initiative. An Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan (EDP) provides access to a larger number of rebated sessions where eligible.

Private health

If your policy includes extras cover for psychology, you may be able to claim a rebate directly through your health fund.

NDIS

Welcoming self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, with support delivered under Improved Daily Living.

Private / self-funded

No referral needed. A sliding scale is available, so please get in touch to discuss a session fee that works for you.

A note on rebates: Medicare and private health rebates can't be claimed for the same session. If you're unsure what you're eligible for, just ask. We're glad to help you work it out.
